For better or for worse, as many times as she had been knocked out of the sky at this point, Yuina was back up in the air still on her next perimeter shift, the ever rotating battalion of rangers to try and maintain air security for the island below. Mounted on Flix, getting more and more familiar with his flight, his manueverability, she looked out around them as the dragon maintained a keen vigil with his senses. Around them, Rasza's broad wings carried her through the air, having proven time and time again that she should never be the chosen mount, her free flight and her power was incredibly important...[break][break]
The air was quiet, thus far, but she could hardly expect it to stay that way... And as Flix stopped on his wings, lofting in the air with a cocked head, Yuina knew that he'd heard something, he was listening...[break]
He trilled, calling out to Rasza, and they both turned to look up at a bird barreling down towards them through the air with a rider. Rasza took the defensive and splayed her wings, whipping up a Hurricane in response, looking to cause pause for whoever was approaching them. Yuina was very clearly donning her ranger's uniform, it would be up to their company on how things moved from this point.

As quickly as the bird had rushed through the air, alight with blue flame and screeching towards Rasza, Yuina felt like she'd only blinked before everything took a devastating turn...[break]
In that quick moment, the bird made contact with Rasza, their now assumed adversary leapt from his mount, momentum carried him through the air, and then... The air was knocked clean out of her as the full force of his momentum and his weight made contact with Yuina, the shock and the impact was more than enough for her to falter as she sat astride Flix's shoulders. In that quick moment, she was no longer mounted on the Flygon, instead they were both now free falling through the air well above the island.[break][break]
If she had the voice to scream, she would have, but she was still struggling with the shock of it all and the fact that her chest and shoulders hurt now... Instead though in her panic, her fight or flight mixing into an amalgamation of everything all at once, she did everything that she could to hit, push, punch, kick, smack and any other form of physical offense to separate herself from the absolute maniac that was intent and content on killing them both.[break][break]
Rasza roared at Flix trilling and diving through the air beneath her, the dragon feared the worst, but she couldn't turn her back on her assailant as she eyed the bird. The dragon drew in a heavy breath and released a beam of Dragon Pulse through the air, aiming to strike the bird out of the air entirely.[break]
The Flygon was swift, his speed and his aerodynamics carrying him deftly through the winds, reaching out his claws to snatch Yuina out of the air.

Even as she doused the bird in a hefty beam of Dragon Pulse energy, it didn't quit as it rushed through the air to strike her again. Rasza took the hit, wavering in the air, but as she caught a glimpse of the bird again she could see that it was bedraggled and worse for wear... It couldn't keep going like this? She rushed with her wings again, whipping the winds around her into another Hurricane, she wasn't completely sure but she felt like she could keep this up a bit longer than the bird could at this rate...[break][break]
In spite of her attempts to try and separate herself from her assailant, Yuina gasped and coughed at being caught mid air by Flix, his claws digging into her torso as he gripped her, but only because neither he nor her were ready to account for the extra weight of her attacker hanging onto her by her shoulders. She winced, she could already feel the cold wetness of blood on her sides... And she looked down at the maniac that clung to her.[break]
"What are you doing, you're insane," she shouted, she reached up to grab onto his arms that held onto her but... She went pale at realizing what kind of position this put her in... if she did anything, if she made a move without trying to ensure that he would be saved... She could very well be responsible for someone falling to their death... Yuina couldn't bear the thought, of being responsible for someone's death that way...[break][break]
She was panicked, the pressure, the reality of the situation, even if he was someone who was outright attacking her, she wasn't going to try to kill someone, she just couldn't do it... The situation was delicate, she had to act as fast as she could, but every move she made dug Flix's claws deeper into her sides, she just had to try and reach one of the Pokeballs at her belt, as carefully and quickly as she could...

Struggling between moving quick enough to help herself, but not wanting to disrupt the very careful balancing act that was her trying to keep her shoulders up right to not lose him, Yuina felt tears pricking at the corners of her eyes at the gravity of the situation as she was just barely able to tap at one of the Pokeballs on her belt.[break]
Beneath them, Ocian the Salamence emerged, lofting on his broad wings, and Yuina looked down at her assailant who called her insane in return, he really had the gall.[break][break]
"Please, don't make me make this decision... Just let go, and Ocian is right beneath you, I won't let you fall," she pleaded, her sides continuing to grow cold with blood, and as soon as the adrenaline would wear off, she was certain that she was going to be in a lot of pain, both physically and mentally.

Having whipped up her last hurricane attack, Rasza wasted no more time on the bird as she turned her back, to look down and find Flix lofting in the air beneath her. She moved instead to dive down towards the scene unfolding with her trainer, only to see a shining metal bird fly away with the human that had attacked them...[break][break]
Clutching his arms as he clung to her shoulders, Yuina could only stare and hope that he had the capacity to understand what she was trying to do... She couldn't be the one that let him fall to his death, she couldn't bear it, she would fight and she would defend, but... She wasn't going to kill...[break]
It felt like an eternity that they hung there in the air, suspended by Flix's claws that dug into her sides, and in the split moment that he let go of her, Yuina almost reflexively reached out for him, she wouldn't let him die, but he did land on Ocian's back, the Salamence made sure to position himself beneath her attacker...[break][break]
And then...[break][break]
He jumped off of Ocian's back and flew away on another Pokemon like nothing had happened...[break][break]
Yuina could only stare as Flix lowered her down onto Ocian's back and removed his claws from her sides, she was indeed scratched and bleeding through her uniform... She blinked, and looked down at herself, clutching her sides as she wrapped her arms around herself, and in the release of the moment, knowing he was gone, she heaved a sob as she held out a bloodied hand...[break]
Was this what she got, for showing someone mercy? He... Could have flown away at any moment, he had other Pokemon with him that could have helped, but instead he let them hang there, he could see her bleeding... Was it mercy, or naivety, that made her hold onto him...? She felt so strongly about saving his life in the moment, she was responsible for his life in that moment, or so she thought... Did that mean nothing to him?[break][break]
If this was what she got, for showing pause, for showing mercy...
